life after 35

What will be my life at the age of 35 ?

This question bothers me a lot..Since childhood I always had plans for future as in complete schooling, do engineering, do MBA ,get a job, get a good job, get married, own a car, own a good car & house….Most of these goals I have achieved but others I will achieve in next few years….

What will I do after that. I dont have any goals for myself…I guess it will be all routine life after 35. Taking care of family types…..But I want more…I want to do more for myself…I hope to get few options before I touch 35…

Relationship

This is the only thing  that everyone has in this world….No matter you have money, home  or anything but you will always carry “Relationship”…with wife, family, friends, managers, colleaques, strangers, god & what not…We do have relations with things like …home, car, company …Even when a child is born, first thing he has developed or built is RELATIONSHIP…

Have ever wondered why?? My best guess is that people want to give a name to eveything..tagging it..This is how we relate to each other…if we dont have relations how will we know who we are , where we stand in the big big big world.

So one thing is clear…one has to has relationship in this world. If one has relationship, one need to maintain it to be in peace & harmony. If relation need to be maintained, there must be some ground rules…

So the basic rules should be

1) Spent time to nurture the bonding

2) give more, expect less

3) have a will to understand others point of view & appreciate it

There must be many….So it is possible that we can manage all relationships successfully. NO ….Because every relationship is different & one need to play different roles….which is never easy & it also depends on the response from the other side….

I think entire life we try to keep relationship healthy…we plan & have goals…as & when we achieve  goals …our relatioship with ourself becomes stronger…we care for our family & make our relationship with our family better…So everything we do utlimately boils down to relationship…

People may argue its not relation which is important but its love which carries weight,,,,My point is you only love people which are related t o you by some kind of relationship ….recognized or unrecognized(mental attraction)…

what do you say….

Vizag te Araku

vizagLast weekend I have been to Vizag ( Vishakhatpatnam, AP) for a change. I just want to share my experice you all.

The Plan was that on Saturday we will go to Araku & stay there overnight. During the day, we were suppose to cover the sight seens between Vizag & Araku. On Sunday, we would come back to Vizag & explore the natural beauty of Vizag.

Being a Nainitalite, I was excited to see what Araku offers so that I can compare between My Nainital & Araku :)

Our flight landed on time at Vizag airport. We had already booked a cab for next two days ( Thanks to Dipankar) & our driver Devid was able to speak hindi …so till now everything was fine….

Our first destination was Jungle Bells resort of AP tourism where we had our breakfast…Only bread omlete & poori was availble…Yaar Jungle walo…please add stuff to your menu…

after that we went towards Borra Caves…They say these caves are 150 million old caves…no doubt…those look like old….I enjoyed roaming in those caves…Arrangements can be improved in Borra caves…

After that while returning we heard Devid bhai saying that there is a waterfall near by & we can try ….The only thing is we need to take a jeep as the ride till waterfall is very bumpy….By god going to that waterfall is my life biggest mistake till now….the road doesnt exist…its mountain on which they drove the jeep…I had started feeling the backpain…after i guess 7-8 kms we stopped…then we need to walk 1 mile to reach that waterfall. & that 1 mile was full of stairs….Idint go :(  I dint want to go…So broken hearts …me n pallavi came back to your jeep & cursing devid bhai & jeep wala driver …we came back to our cab…

Then the best part started ….journey to Araku valley is full of beautiful scenes …..the hills, the fog, the greenery, the serenity….we reached…hill resort of Ap tourism & checked in to our room ….it was a nice room with a big balcony displaying the mesmerizing beauty of Araku….We had our lunch & then we headed to a local museum & chappa ( a river)…..I enjoyed these 2 places…Though AP tourism, I guess can add few more spots to make a more valuable for tourist….we clicked more than 100 photos… :)

After having dinner we decided to call it day & came back to our room…to my surprise something has bitten me on my hand & it has started swelling & was painful too…I realized there are khatmals in the bed ( I dunno what u call khatmal in english) & they are so many…I started killing them one by one …full night they were bitting me here & there…I cursed AP tourism & my decision to stay in their resort….

Next morning we headed back to Vizag & reached there by afternoon & checked in at AP tourism Rushikonda beach resort….I had trusted AP tourism a lot :) ….That day we covered Anathagiri, harbour ( smelled like hell) , Rushikonda beach…

All & all it was an ok trip…We got a break after such a long time

…Things can be improved by AP tourism….I hope they will….

Do you have ideal Job. I dont ?

office2
office1This is my 4th company in 4.5 years & I am still searching my dream job. It makes me wonder whether I am looking for something that does not exist or there is something missing in my skill set.
Let me define my ideal job to give a clear picture of what I intent to achieve.
“It is a position which involves mutiple responsibilities- Like Business Analysis, Consulting, Proposal making, Interaction with Top Management,
Decision Making , working on New Products along with excellent management skills shown by my managers, support from colleagues & team members, positive
flow of energy & healthy Competition.”
Now the things that had taken away the idealness in my last 4 jobs are
Have a mindset that whatever tasks I do at my job can be done by any graduate
Doing same work everyday without any scope for change
Bad managers with pathetic leadership skills
Politics in  the group
No growth in terms of knowledge, Salary hike & exposure to better opportunities
Getting unncessary blames for the things which I didnt do
All these negative things have made the atmosphere dirty & somehow have been a major driver for me to look for a change
But now I understand one thing is which I guess I would have understood 4 years ago.
Never look for a perfect job instead convert the current job into a perfect job. During this journey the learning which one have which be for the lifetime…
At the ends it all about attitude…

Never look for a perfect job. It does not exist becuase so many parties are involved such as manager, colleaques, client & others & you cant control them as per your wish.

Instead convert the current job into a perfect job. During this journey the learning which one have which be for the lifetime. It will teach you the basics of life such as persistence, courage, creativity, people management & what not

At the ends it all about attitude…

How to design a CRM system

It worked….my design worked………………read how

Recently, I went to give an interview for the opening of Business Analyst in an unknown kind of company. I was excited to go there as this opportunity to give an interview came after a gap of 4 months. I have not prepared anything & was dependent on my luck.

The interview started off well with “Tell me about yourself” question. I told interviewer the summary of my current, past & future  professional skills. The following  questions were very generic like “Why you are looking for change”, “How you can add value to the table”. I answered them beautifully….These are standard questions asked in any kind of interview..Than came the bouncer..”Can you design a CRM system for me”. I was quite surprised with the question & could not understand the reason why the interviewer has asked me such a thing…

I was asked to use the whiteboard for designing the CRM system. While walking to the white board, I had already thought about my approach that I would be using. It was “As-Is” “To-Be” process flow. Though I was not exactly sure of the solution & was still struggling to understand the context of this question.

In next 45 minutes, I have prepared a design of a future CRM system which would help my so called customer to make better solution delivery, increase sales & better report generation. I had put all kinds of  knowlegde I had into building the design the system. In the middle, while the discussion was going on, the interviewer got up & said “I am done with my interview. Do you have any questions to ask”. Again, he took me by surprise & I asked him how he liked my design.

He said that he didnt like my approach. As a Business Analyst, a person should ask n number of questions to the client & then start developing the solution. I was shocked.

In the very beginning when I started designing, I asked him questions  to understand why, what kind of CRM he wants, what is the current process, bottlenecks  & he just told me he needs something that brings more business & speeds up the sales process. I thought that I will make some prototype & then we will discuss. I was doing the same unfortunately the interview ended. I dont know what is the though process of interviewers & how they judge candidates. I wanted him to understand the effort that I am making to make him understand my approach. But I guess he already had a fixed solution in his mind & was not open to listen to anything else. This attitude is dangerous as you cant analyse the actual potential of the candidate. Interviewer needs to have an open mind & have to unbiased…

Next time when I will go for a BA interview, I will be more careful in understanding the context of the questions asked to me & will not waste my time unnecessary…………….

Start Now

This is the mantra for success. START Now

As humans we think, we desire, we make plans but didnt  reach to final destination.  We have goals & we have paths but still we  dont achieve our our results.  I dont  know about others except myself.

Whenever I set goals, first thing entering my mind is

Today I have done the planning & have set my goals  but from tomorrow I start implementing the plan.

Or if the idea is too good I take a step further & start thinking about the long list of obstacles which will greet me on my journey towards acheiving my desired goals. I actually start dreaming about how I will face those challenges.

If I get an instant  solution to all my problems  I start my walk  towards the end. And, if I dont get all answers, I  feel fatigued & loose interest to go aheaad & follow my plan.

This approach is not working for me now. It creates procastination for an indefinite period of time. I have not executed my plans & hence have hampered my growth, my learning, my future.

So, what I feel is necessary is to give a kick start to your ideas once you have decided on them. There should not be any break taken even if we dont  have  a perfect plan. There is no need for perfection to start something. Work can be started with lesser details & going forward more analysis can be added & if needed a small Improvisation can also be done.  What is extremely critical  is that we start-

We start & first thing is to write down basic things such as

  • Purpose & objective of this event
  • End state or the completed state with properly defined output
  • Who all can be the stakeholdes &
  • list of necessary things
  • Mental Picture of you in case you reach ur final goal…This is important. if you can imagine how you will look like or feel once you have achieved the desired results, it will motivate you to go ahead
  • approach & rough plan

The important thing is that we need to write down in order to achieve our aim. We tend to think instead of writing which is the worst evil. This list is more than enough & if we can will do these steps,  we will get a feel of our work & who know we can reach the finish too….

life or swimming pool

Surprised by the tittle. Me too. How can human beings be analogous to swimming pool. One is living while the other one is dead But I tried to put forth my thoughts

* So many people come to the pool – similar to the numerous interaction one have with others

* Everyone takes his own space in the pool & leaves something back- people also leaves impressions on our minds which can be positive or negative

 * Swimming pools have rules- like costumes are must, head should be covered- We put values or beliefs

* Cleaning is necessary so that pool remains fresh- We also need to clearn our body & soul to keep ourselves truly alive

* People may learn swimming here & then move to other swimming pools- Other also use us & throw away

* Only few people come regularly for a long time- We also have only our family & few true friends which are there with us always…… The only difference is that swimming pool needs someone to take of it while we being humans can all these tasks.

“Good morning”, Morning

What to do when you get up in the morning
We are are routine bound. Its our tendancy to repeat things & form habits & routine. I was just observing what is
my routine in the morning. From last couple of years most of time after getting up I have done nothing great. What I
mean is that apart from having bed tea, breakfast & then getting ready for office, I have not done any value adding things.Occasionally, I have news or read newspaper.
I never had time to do some thing positive in the morning or I can say I never felt that I should do.
But they say that morning forms the basis of your entire day. So whatever things we do in morning defines our next 10-15 hrs.
Mornimg gives us the energy to do our day’s task. Its upto us whether we take positive energy by doing value added tasks or accumulate negative energy but doing nothing
So, I guess all great things should be done in morning.
Some where I read, we can do 75 different things in the morning to make ourselves full of life enjoying energy
Though I dont remember anything but I have started feeling that morning has to be very special.
I want to add more things to my morning list apart from Yoga, exercise, Meditation, prayer, walk down the road & reading

When MANAGERS start thinking

Imagine the scenario- one application development team is facing an issue from last 2 days & the team has tried all fixes but is unsuccessful in resolving the issue. Suddenly the manager comes & without understanding the issue & the context – gives  some stupid suggestions . The overall impact- the team members which were trying to resolve the issue are now so damn frustated that they feel like kicking manager’s butt & they ASk only one thing. WHO HAS ASKED MY MANAGER TO THINK.

Most of the people including me thinks that managers should not think the way they think.  You know what happens when our managers think

1) We forget what  the original issue was- they make us confused

2) Precious time is wasted in educating our managers about the issue &  even god cant make them understand

3) Lots of miscommunication start happening in the team

4) Favorism comes into the play

5) The whole environment becomes worst than hell

6) Delivery, moral of associate & quality is impacted

So dear managers please dont think…let us do our jobs …we know what best can be done….

Getting angry is divine

Have you ever wondered why their is so much of intensity assocaited when one gets angry. Because one gets connected to himself. Sounds weird. Please continue reading

We get angry on one issue but when we show our anger on someone, 100 of issues come out of our mouth. This phenomenon is more common in personal relationships. Why this happens.

As far as I understand, anger helps us in reuniting with ourselves. At that point, our heart, mind & soul become one. The result is words flowing out of our mouth. Our Subconsiousness & Consiousness have joined hands & we are what we actually are. May be this form of us is not liked by one one but this is our actual self. Most of us have the habit of suppressing anger as showing anger is indecency in our society. Anger can ruin relationships & can create friction.

When we suppress anger, it gets stored in our subconsious mind. These feelings come out when we show anger. Thats why we tend to say to bring up all the issues when we fight. Accumulation of suppressed feeling is like poison. Its like a volcano which when exploded creates an uncontrollable loss. It has severe impact & makes everybody’s life hell. Therefore it becomes necessary to release anger frequently without storing it.

So dear readers, getting angry is ok. This is necessary to keep our relations healthy.
